As teachers are facing the reality of planning for a new school year, I thought I'd take a moment to share one of my favorite lesson planning resources. Common Curriculum is a really versatile website that allows teachers to tackle lesson planning in a more efficient way. Once you create a free account and decide on a lesson plan template, or design your own, you can begin to quickly add the standards you're working on by using their easy search feature. No copying and pasting, just simply click on the standards that you want to include. You can also add attachments or links to websites right in your plan book so all of your resources are in one place. Your digital plan book can also be shared with others, which makes team planning and collaboration a breeze! If there's a storm day or unplanned event, you can easily shift your lessons to the next day. I love how easy it is to shuffle things around and how quickly you can look at a week's or month's worth of plans. This site works really well for teachers who teach multiple classes or subject areas. One downfall, or point of frustration, to digital planning on Common Curriculum is that you cannot print your plans from their website unless you upgrade to the paid version. Do you have a planning tool that works well for you? Leave a comment below. If you're interested in trying out Common Curriculum, and would like some support, please feel free to book an appointment with me!
